New Year


As 2012 came to its end,
A year full of pain, heartache, and strife,
I looked ahead and said “Amen!”
Hopeful of a new outlook on life.

    2013 lays ahead, warm and bright,
    perhaps an end to a long, dark night.
    Though none can no the end of the tale,
    or what lies beyond the shadowy veil,
    take comfort in knowing that no matter your plight,
    your friends will be there, with a tankard of ale.
